The Cleaner Production tends to identify solutions for environmental problems that improve the profitability of the companies at the same time that reduce charges of pollutants. Cleaner Production includes options of " low cost " (good practices) and opportunities for investment (cleaner technologies).

The entrepreneurs usually implement options of low cost, but they are not always ready to invest in cleaner technologies when the pay back time of the investment is longer than "regular" investments. In many cases cleaner technologies seem to be less attractive financially, and worst in countries with high rates of interest and / or short credit periods as the case of Colombia.

The Línea de Crédito Ambiental (Green Credit Line) seeks to increase the attraction for investments in cleaner technologies. This is achieved across a partial reimbursement (up to 25%) of the invested capital, based on the environmental impact reduction through the project.
