financial intermediaries

The Green Credit Line was specially designed for investments that try to achieve a positive impact on the Environment and to increase the Sustainable Development of the country.

It is a line that promotes the environmental investment, with emphasis in the concepts of pollution prevention, as main philosophy of the National Cleaner Production Center.

The resources of the credit itself come from the own funds of the Financial Intermediaries. These are the managers of the credit itself, and of the establishment of the contracts and other documents needed to grant the credit to the companies. They are also responsible for analyzing the financial eligibility of the company that requests the credit.

The Swiss State Secretariat For Economics Affairs - SECO - established a Trust Fund associated with the Green Credit Line, which grants the incentives (Reimbursements). When the National Cleaner Production Center recommends the reimbursements according to the environmental impact reduction, SECO orders to transfer the money to decrease the credit balance.

The National Cleaner Production Center is responsible to evaluate the project in technical and environmental matters, including the measurements of the environmental indicators, before and after the implementation of the project. According to the reduction, recommends the amount of the reimbursement. Additionally, the center is in charge to observe the correct destination of the credit resources in the project.
